Recognize computer components and their functions

Recognize computer components

The computer is an electronic device that has brought many benefits to human life. Of course, the advantages offered come from the various computer components it contains.

In this article, you will learn about the various components of a computer and their respective functions. For those of you who are interested in knowing what computer components are, let's see the full discussion below!

What are computer components?

Computer parts are a collection of various components that have interrelated functions that make a computer work. Even if one of these parts is missing, the computer cannot function properly.

Based on its shape, computer components are divided into two types, namely hardware and software. These two components certainly have their respective functions and are very important for the optimal functioning of the computer.

Computer Hardware Components (Hardware)
Hardware or hardware is a computer component that we can see in its physical form. Summary of computer hardware modules and their features by Saiful Rahman Yuniarto. Here are some pieces of hardware or computer hardware.

1. Motherboards
The motherboard is the most important component of a computer, as it contains the BIOS, chipset, processor socket, memory, graphics card and several additional system connectors. The task of the motherboard itself is to load all the necessary components inside the computer.

2. Processor (CPU)
The processor or CPU acts as the central brain of the computer. The processor is a computer component that carries out all the instructions that are programmed and stored in the form of a hard disk.

3. Hard Disk Drives (HDD)
The hard drive is the part of the computer that acts as permanent storage. So that the data will not be lost even if the electricity is cut off because in it there is a magnetic disk that can store data.

4.Solid State Drives (SSD)
SSD is a component for storing data using IC (Integrated Circuits) circuits. SSDs continuously store data stored on interconnected NAND-based flash memory chips.

5. Memory (RAM)
RAM is a non-permanent data storage unit, meaning that data in RAM will be lost if the power is turned off. Thus, the computer's RAM acts as temporary storage that the computer uses to perform application or software functions.

6. Optical disc (CD/DVD)
The optical drive functions as a reading device for storage in the form of a DVD/CD. The DVD/CD itself is an optical disc that contains data.

7. Diskette
Floppy drives are media readers for floppy disks. But at this time, floppy disks are not widely used by computer users.

8. VGA card (graphics card)
VGA stands for Video Graphics Array. VGA card produces graphics (images) to be displayed on the monitor.

9. Sound card
Sound card is a computer component that translates digital data into audio signals. With the discovery of this sound card, the development of the world of multimedia on computers is becoming more common.

10. Keyboards
The keyboard is a keyboard that contains all types of letters, numbers, signs, and punctuation. This keyboard is a tool used by computer users to enter various information into the computer.

11. Mouse
The mouse is a pointing device used on a computer screen. Mouse makes computer users more interactive and useful.

12. Screen
Monitor is a computer component that displays graphic images from a VGA card. Monitors allow us to see everything on the computer. 13. Printer
A printer is a device for printing information on a computer onto paper. There are printers that use the dot matrix system, ink and laser beam devices.
